OPCWare support - OPC expertise

Welcome to the Data Layers support center. In the unlikely event of a customer encountering an issue, our technical support team is standing by to deliver friendly, high-quality, responsive technical support to registered and prospective users of our products. We offer several types of support to help you use our products effectively.

Prior to submitting a query to our support desk [email: support@opcware.com] or use our support contact form, don't forget to search our online knowledgebase, and please read the product documentation along with any other documentation found on this web site. Often you will find immediate answers to your technical questions in those resources. We also request that you read and become familiar with your OPC server documentation, and with technical issues such as DCOM and your specific network configuration.

For items not included in the support options described below, we offer incident support, applications support, consulting and professional services [email: sales@opcware.com].

Email Support (For Lite, Standard and Professional edition Customers)

Technical support with Lite, Standard or Professional license purchase ("standard product support") comes in the form of unlimited email support. Registered customers can avail of standard product support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by email. All standard product support queries submitted by email to our support desk [email: support@opcware.com] or through our support contact form are guaranteed an initial response within two (2) business days, though for the vast majority of queries we are in a position to respond within a matter of minutes if not hours.

Telephone Support (For Standard and Professional edition Customers Only)

Standard product support also includes thirty (30) days of telephone support for OPCWare Client Developer in the case of Standard edition customers, and ninety (90) days of telephone support for Professional edition customers. Registered eligible customers can avail of standard product support during normal business hours by telephone. This service starts from the date of your first call to the technical support desk. Contact numbers are provided with your product registration keycode following purchase. Annual and emergency telephone support contracts are available [email: sales@opcware.com]

Pricing

There is no charge for standard product support. It is included with your product purchase.

Term of Support

Standard product support benefits are provided for the lifetime of the product.

Scope of Support

Standard product support does include:

  • Installation, setup and distribution issues directly related to the product.
  • Queries relating to product functionality and product programming interfaces.
  • Queries relating to sample code included with the product.

Standard product support does not include:

  • Installation, configuration and setup of other OPC components and products such as OPC servers.
  • Development of application specific code.

OPCWare Client Developer can most easily be used with Visual Basic Version 5 or 6. To give you an indication of just how easy it is to use, we have an example application available online with free source code, using OPCWare Client Developer with Visual Basic 6.
